Apple iPad....Part II

Hello ppl, I got your responses last time.I am really encouraged by the responses.Thanks a ton.Now continuing with the earlier blog Apple iPad....Part I, I would like to focus on the web browser Safari used by iPad:

Safari:

Apple Safari is the web browser commonly known as Safari which the ipad has as its default Browser.

Features of Safari on iPad:

• There are two modes of screen namely-landscape and portrait.
• We can view the pages in these two modes with fine colour contrast and clear text that is readable. Apple iPad screen will rotate between these two modes as you rotate the iPad.

• As this is a multi-touch screen every surfing you can do by your finger tips which is the most natural pointing device.
• You can scroll through a page just by flicking up or down.
• By double tapping you can maximize or minimize it.
• By Pinching you can zoom in or zoom out
• Whenever you will point to a link it shows you a URL, so you will be aware of where you are navigating.
• Thumbnail view is also present so that moving from one page to other page is easy.

• Connects to web via high speed 802.11n Wi-Fi.
• Whenever you are not in Wi-Fi are you can connect with the web via optional 3G Networking.
• Supports the latest video and audio innovations in HTML 5, so can get the feel of multimedia.

• Double tap a video to play it fullscreen or can play a compatible video.
• Can sync your bookmarks from your PC.
• Google, Yahoo and Bing search engines are built in
• When you want to enter a URL, fill a form, or search for text within a page and a big virtual keyboard appears.
• Can even create an icon of your favorite site on the home page and access it with a single tap.

• Needs to print a webpage, tap print and iPad send it to the AirPrint -enabled printer, purely wireless.

• Mobile Me is the feature which keep Safari bookmark in sync with your iPad, iPhones, PC or Mac. Hence always updated.

Disadvantages of Safari:

1)       Lack of Adobe Flash Player- Though we can use AFP by the name of FRASH which requires jailbreak, which is hectic in one of its kind.

2)       The Search suggestion of Safari is really irritating. When you search on the inbuilt google engine with Safari Search Suggestion it will search off-track of your assumptions. This will be annoying for you.

3)       If you like open multiple tab on in Safari browser Window you will be forced to swap this browser window. Take it other way if a pop up appears or you accidentally clicked another link ,browser will do a window swapping animation and you cant stop it. This is due to lack of iPad multitasking.

4)       Whenever you switch to other tab or whenever you minimize it and again return back to Safari it will again reload the site. :(

5)       Crashes frequently.

There are other alternatives also present for Safari but the fact is that Apple has chosen it as a default browser.
