JPMorgan-Twitter Alliance in response to GoldMan Sach-FB Alliance

JPMorgan Chase is aiming to invest in Twitter increasing the value of company to $4.5 b. JP Morgan is likely to invest about $1.22 b in Twitter which will help in former's further development. JP Morgan is following the example of Goldman Sach which has developed and established its existence after investing $1.5 b in Facebook which gave value to FB upto $50b.

It is vague whether the fund, JP Morgan Digital Growth Fund, will invest directly in Twitter or purchase the incumbent investor’s stake with the company’s agreement. The talks are still in process.

JP Morgon is also expected to extend their fund to other markets of social media such as Zynga and Living Social. The companies which they prefer must have an established business model.

The news of the investment in Twitter which came out of the management unit and company’s executive is unwilling to discuss, hints a steep rise in Twitter’s worth.

Twitter raise $200m form a group of investors spearheaded by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers which helped the value of company to $3.7b from $1 b in September 2009.

Twitter introduces its first ad last April, including special messages known as ‘Promoted Tweets’ attracting companies like Coca Cola and Nike. According to eMarketer, an Internet Anlysis company, the company ad revenue may rise up to $150 m current fiscal year.

Over the time there are few changes in the company’s Board of Directors. It has added two seasoned Silicon Valley executives as board of directors and promoted Dick Costolo to CEO from COO. The company now has more than 300 employees and is expanding.

JP Morgan fund has raised about $1.22 billion from outside rich investors till now. Earlier they were expecting funds from $500 m to $750 m. Minimum investment is fixed at about $250,000 and expects to recollect about $13 m in commissions.

Whosoever funds it may be but it is sure that the Cold War between Twitter and Facebook will continue. Probably Twitter following the path of FB.

Yesterday Apple announced a newer and upgraded version of its MacBook Pro lines of laptops.

Features:

·         New and Upgraded processors. Intel Processors-Corei5: dual core chip and Core i7: quad core chip, which brag to enhance the performance twice of earlier capabilities.
·         A graphic processor which is more powerful than earlier versions. In 13-inch model, there is an integrated graphic processor whereas in 15-inch and 17-inch model, Apple also integrated it with AMD Radeon graphics chip. So models with dual chips switch effortlessly and mechanically as and when it is needed.
·         An HD camera. It also contains a FaceTime camera that can stream video in 720 pixel resolution and displaying it to widescreen format.
The new Thunderbolt port on MacBook Pros.

·         A new port for a new technology which Apple calls Thunderbolt (TB). The most distinguishing feature of Apple MacBook Pro is the Thuderbolt port.
·         Thuderbolt Port is the highspeed data and display port that would be included in the existing connection standards came out as a collaboration of Apple with Intel -Light Peak Project. MacBook Pro is the first Computer to feature this technology.
·         Performance Specifiactions of Thunderbolt:

        At 10 Gbps:
·         It’s twice as fast as USB 3.0
·         12 times as fast as FireWire 800
·         20 times faster than USB 2.0.

·         TB is also a native mini DisplayPort, so any display with that connection can connect very easily. HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort and VGA displays can use adapters. Thunderbolt also provides up to 10 watts of power to peripherals and can be daisy-chained to up to six peripherals.

·         According to Intel stated in their press release: A Thunderbolt connection can transfer a full-length high-definition movie in 30 seconds.

For viewers, it looks very similar to its earlier versions.
·         Same unibody made of aluminum with full width glass across the display.
·         All the three models 13, 15, and 17-inch models are still pricing at $1199, $1799 and $2499.
17-inch model

15-inch model

13-inch model

In a nutshell, superficially it is still the same .What they have changed is the interior parts. It’s just an upgraded computer with same price and remarkable features. Let see what the market review will be after this launch of Apple.

Motorola ATRIX 4G: An Innovation from Motorola

ATRIX 4G
Every now and then we see something newer in technologies. From cell phones to smart phones, from simple calls to Touchpad, Technology has no end. What’s new we wanted. Motorola has come with a virgin feature which I will call one of the greatest development in Technologies.
You would have used computers, laptops, televisions, tablets all of this contains processors, display units and storage systems. In any ways, all are performing nearly identical functions.
Few years back, one of my friends told me that the day is not far away when each mobile would be nothing but a pocket computer. The development of technologies is also proving the veracity of the above statement.
Here comes the Motorola’s most fantabulous, exciting and innovative idea of converting mobile into the hearts and brain of the laptop.
Motorola ATRIX 4G is a well designed, fast Android phone. It also has the fellow laptop docks which super thin, sleek, light and black aluminum without processor and storage of its own.
The advantage is –
you don’t have to sync anything.
Heart still is you mobile.
Primary is mobile and secondary is laptop.

So  here we saw that it is phone which invigorate life in the laptop.
You also have to change your idea about battery. Suppose you are on travel and the journey is of nearly 10 hrs. You just keep the cell in the laptop dock and watch movies for about 8-10 hours with the laptop batteries and when you are done with your travel, take the cell out of the dock and you will have you cell batteries full charged.
Features
è     It runs on Android 2.2 (Froyo).
è     It is powered by dual core 1Ghz Nvidia Tegra 2 SoC processor
è     It has dual cameras i.e. front and back cameras. Primary camera i.e. back one is 5 Megapixel camera with AF and LED flash and Secondary (Front) is a VGA Camera at resolution of 640×480 pixels
è     It uses Motorola’s Blur Software –unifies address books and messages from various online accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and email.
è     It has the fingerprint sensor built into the power button on top back of the cell. This feature will help us in locking the phone with a single finger. But before this feature comes into execution it needs several swipes of our finger.
è     The display screen is huge of 4 inch — 960 x 540 pixels better for viewing maps and docs.
è    The Atrix has DLNA. Don't have to buy the dock if you don't want to. Atrix dock is more useful if you want to use web-top, the streaming is an added bonus.
è     With many HDMI capable Android phones coming out you will either get Movie and Image output via HDMI OR mirrored mode
è     Taking connectivity into figures, it supports GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth, USB, 3G and (HSPA+) i.e. 4G network.
è     It has 16GB of on phone memory which can be extended to 32 GB with memory card.
è     1GB RAM
è     Geo tagging feature is available.
è     Compass, Accelerometer, Proximity, Light Sensor features are also there.
è     Multi touch Input Method.
è     The best part is about the laptop is that we don’t have to stress so much for shut down. Just take the cell out. This will be enough.
è     As soon as you keep the phone in the dock, the mobile screen contents will be there on laptop screens. The icons and buttons are clickable bytrackpad clicker.
è     And yes you will not miss your phone call in this setup. The laptop will act as a speakerphone.
è     All the Android apps can be run on the Laptop Screen but all the apps didn’t exploit the laptop screen.
è     We can open another window on Laptop i.e. Firefox web browser at full screen. Web surfing is easy.
è     A TV dock for the ATRIX is also available.

Till now you have read about the features of the Atrix 4G.But every coin has two states. So there are some flaws too in the phone.
è     Scrolling is a serious issue. On phone, its easy scrolling with the finger which is the natural pointing device but when the phone’s in the laptop, swiping is quite difficult. We scroll while holding the clicker button and then dragging one finger on the trackpad. So bizarre..huh!!!
è     Unused key strokes for phones- Page up and Page Down which only works for the Firefox.
è     Since it’s an Android laptop so word, excel and ppts will open in QuickOffice Software.
è     You won’t run games, Photoshop etc as you run on a real laptop.
è      Phone runs flash videos so will be able to see TV shows. But since the flash is so jerky that it’s unwatchable even on a fast Wi-Fi Connection.
è     The internet speed is not up to its mark. The internet speed of a non 4G phone is greater than Atrix 4G.
è     The phone and the laptop together cost $500 after $100 rebate. Too much expensive. With this you can purchase a new windows based laptop everything at one place. To use the browser you have to pay $20 to AT&T per month.

Rumours are there that this phone is going to outsell the Apple iPhone. I think Google is just testing with their OS in the market. But with this features it’s impossible to outsell Apple phones. Google has just displayed the cards from their pockets .The Ace is yet to be shown. But when this phone will be launched a great response is expected from the customers.
I hope you would have enjoyed reading this Blog.

Cheers!!!

Apple iPad....Part III: Other Alternatives of Safari to iPad

This is the article with continuation to the earlier blog Apple iPad.... part II.

Other Alternatives to iPad Browsers:

There are several features which we look in for mobile browsers:
è     Flash Player- To play maximum videos and animations a Flash player is needed. Why Apple has not included flash player ?
è     Search Engine Assumptions- The search Engine in Safari is not as we generally search on the Search Engine. Safari has inbuilt search assumptions which is greatly a nuisance.
è     Full Screen Feature- We generally want to use the browser in full screen mode which gives us a feel in reading cartoon WebPages, articles, magazines, journals etc. Since the screen has also a rotating mode so each time it’s create inconvenience to the user who is busy reading the articles with a feeling.
è     Simultaneous Page Browsing- We want to see two pages on a single screen. It’s just like comparing those two pages on a single screen.
è     Single Touch Tab buttons- In Google Chrome or Firefox when we click on the links of different domains, the link opens in another tab just by clicking on it which allows easier and faster browsing
è     Private Browsing- Suppose, at a time, we opened some transactional bank sites and after browsing we need to delete the history as to keep my account safe. If the browser has Private Browsing or surfing options enabled, we need not delete the browsing history every time.

The other Browsers are as follows:

BROWSER DUO

If you want to access two WebPages on one screen .This will be a good alternative. Full screen mode is quite weird. It can’t utilize the whole iPad’s Screen very well. So for Full screen mode this iPad is not to be counted. Private Browsing is also possible.

Other Web Browsers are:

Perfect Browser for iPad

Frustrations on iPad:
You can’t set any other browsers as the default browser for iPad. As safari is inbuilt in the OS hence it is the default browser for iPad. So when you click on Web Apps in iPad and other apps such as Tweet Desk it will launch in Safari by default.
Solution: Install a bookmarklet in Safari that navigate to AW with your current webpage.
